Continuing with the 13 Favourites of 2013 posts, I have my favourite skincare and haircare products. Make sure to check out my previous post about my favourite makeup products of 2013.
I apologize for some of the photos being numbered and some not – the numbered ones are going to be part of my upcoming complete skincare routine post. So keep an eye out for that!
What have your favourite skincare and haircare products been for 2013?
Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 – This toner has definitely changed my skin for the better this year. It gently exfoliates your skin while not drying it out at all. Use it both day and night.
Miracle10 AHA Cream – I’ve already expressed my love for this product in a previous post. In short, this product smooths out the texture of your skin, gets rid of any dry patches you may have and just makes your skin look radiant.
Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Moisturizer – This moisturizer is the only one I have found that actually hydrates my skin and doesn’t just disappear minutes after applying it. Great for all year use – but I’ve been adding a bit of argan oil over top the past couple weeks to amp up the hydration.
Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream – Yes, I love Clinique products. This scrub is so fine but still gritty enough to actually exfoliate your skin. I use this about once a week, but you can definitely use it a couple more times in a week despite the name. Reminds me a lot of the Vasanti Brighten Up (which I also love) but is about $10 cheaper.
Clean and Clear Invisible Blemish Treatment – Despite having dry skin, I am very susceptible to break outs (maybe my pores clog easily?). I find salicylic acid works best on my skin (see my debacle with benzoyl peroxide here). I see results in the morning – less redness, size has decreased. This also doesn’t dry out my skin which is great.
Clarisonic Mia Face Cleansing Brush – I am shocked I’ve never blogged about this. Yes these are pricey and it seems like everyone and their sister uses one – but it is completely justified! My skin feels so clean and soft after using it. The first week of use caused me to break out a lot (not unheard of at all) but products absorb so quickly into the skin after using this I kept with it. I use it only at night (when I remember/feel like it as I can be pretty lazy some nights).
Moroccan Oil Hair Oil Treatment – Another cult favourite worth all the hype! I love the smell, the texture, the results. I’ve tried my share of hair oils and this still remains my favourite. Dry, split ends disappear and my hair is as soft as ever.
Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer – The only heat protectant I use. The spray bottle sprays the most perfect fine mist. The smell of the product is fantastic and it makes my hair super soft in addition to protecting your strands from the stressful heat. I use this before blow drying, straightening and curling my hair.
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray – After receiving this in my July Ipsy Bag I fell in love. Sprayed on the hair when damp, it gives the perfect beachy texture and wave to the hair. Doesn’t leave your hair feeling crunchy or smelling like the ocean. I loved using this all summer after curling my hair with a curling wand. So sad I only have a few drops left – a definite repurchase come the springtime.
Garnier Fructis Style Hold and Flex Hairspray – A great humidity resistant hairspray that doesn’t leave your hair crunchy. Smells great and holds your style all day. Have not been able to find another hairspray that meets all those requirements. Usually buy either the extra strong hold or the hold level below that.
eOS Lip Balm – The flavour doesn’t really matter to me. They all work for me (at least the ones I’ve tried). A lot of product that hydrates the lips and keeps them moisturized for hours. Great smells/flavours – especially the pomegranate-raspberry one. Great conversation starter too as a lot of people are intrigued with the packaging/shape of the product.
Crabtree and Evelyn Rosewater Hand Therapy – A product I only recently received but absolutely love! I’ve tried a lot of hand creams (even cult favourite L’Occitane Shea Butter) but this one smells good (if you like the smell of roses) and actually works without leaving your hands greasy. Use it everyday now, especially right before I put my gloves on to go outside.
Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Conditioning Lotion – This body lotion is super hydrating but soaks into the skin so quickly! I used to hate putting on lotion before bed because it wouldn’t absorb into my skin, then I’d feel sticky/greasy and hate the feeling of that under the covers. This lotion doesn’t do that at all, so I actually use it! The cocoa butter one smells amazing too!
til next time….
