Empties #8: October 2014

Well I’ve used up a bunch of products and feel a little bit lighter. With my spending ban in place, I hope to finish up a lot more products as I won’t be bringing anything new into my collection.

Keep reading to see what I think of all my empties!

Miracle 10 Solution I – This is a pretty mediocre toner. I didn’t notice any major differences in my skin. It certainly doesn’t stand up to my holy grail Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2. Will not repurchase.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum – This is a wonderful, thin cream-gel hybrid serum. It soaked into my skin very quickly and instantly added moisture. It would be great for most skin types. Also, it smells amazing. Probably will not purchase (due to price).

Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil – I really enjoyed this lightweight face oil. Sometimes, even though I have dry skin, oils are way too heavy for my skin and make me break out. This oil only hydrated my skin. May purchase.

L’Oreal Gentle Makeup Remover – This remover does work pretty well, especially with waterproof mascara. But I hate the packaging and would actually pick a different brand that had more practical packaging. Will not repurchase.

Beyond the Zone Shock Therapy Intense Quench – This is a one-time hydration treatment for your hair. I found it definitely added hydration but not intensely as the name states. Will not repurchase.

Pantene Expert Advanced Keratin Repair – This split end fuser is one of my favourite products I’ve tried in a long while. Acts like an hair oil but without the mess. Made my ends look more healthy and kept split ends at bay. Will purchase.

Aveda Invati Thickening Conditioner – In addition to the pointless size of this conditioner, it did nothing for my hair and I hated the scent. Will not purchase.

Kerastase Cristalliste Lumière Liquide – Easily one the best smelling hair oils I have ever used. Quickly absorbed into my hair and didn’t leave it greasy looking. May purchase (depending on price).

Random Hair Dye Conditioners – I hesitated putting these in here but thought “Nope! They are empties!” One of my friends doesn’t like to use this step when she dyes her hair so she nicely donates them to me! I use these as deep conditioning treatments and they are great for travel.

Tresemmé Très Two Hairspray – One of my favourite hairsprays. Smells good, holds my style without making it crunchy. Will repurchase.

Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner in Universal Dark – A purchase due to the Maybelline one being more expensive. Totally paid off! I may actually like it even better than the Maybelline pencil. Creamy but doesn’t fade during the day. Nice thin pencil. Some people may find it leans a bit red but that is fine with me! Will repurchase.

Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Dark Brown – My go-to brow pencil…well kind of now. Nice neutral brown shade. Lasts for most of the day. Thin-ish pencil. May repurchase (after I finish my 3 backups).

Rimmel Moisture Renew in Rose Cocoon – A perfect my lips but better gloss. Super hydrating. Really sad these were discontinued but managed to pick up another one during the summer at The Ex. Would repurchase if they still existed.

Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in Pink Ice – My favourite light pink gloss. Looks so glossy on the lips and makes your lips look bigger. Not sticky yet lasts a decent time on the lips. Really nice shimmer that you can’t feel. Will repurchase.

Avon Pro Brow Enhancer – This is a strange product. A brow gel that has tiny fibres in it to “fill in” your brows. It didn’t work. It made my brows look like they were sprouting. Will not repurchase.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner – This eyeliner was alright. Nothing that memorable. Prefer my Stila one. Will not purchase.

Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Waterproof Mascara – Love this mascara. Volume. Length. Minimal clumping. Will repurchase.

Maybelline The Rocket Volum Waterproof Mascara – A case where I don’t prefer the waterproof version. I found it to clump my lashes together and it was hard to pull through my lashes. Will not repurchase.

Maybelline Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara – Another win for Maybelline. The upper lash mascara adds length and some volume at the base of the lashes. The lower lash mascara subtly adds colour and length while also able to separate upper lashes before the ‘upper lash’ step. Will repurchase.

Bath and Body Works Pomegranate Citrus Shower Gel – Mm mm mmm! This shower gel smells delightful! Great summer shower gel. Not hydrating at all but who cares when you use it in the summer haha! Will repurchase (if this scent exists again).

Phew! All done! Congrats if you made it through this post 🙂

til next time…
