It appears that October went by very quickly and I just couldn’t remember what products I kept reaching for. This month was quite the Favourites struggle but I managed to find 5 things that I love and 1 product that was the ultimate fail.
What were some of your standout products this past month?
L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire in Dancing Rose – I picked up this lip product from the L’Oreal tent during TIFF and have been enjoying it ever since. Nicely pigmented, creamy, non-sticky lipstick-lip gloss hybrid that smells a bit like Fuzzy Peaches. This colour is great for everyday wear and is nice to keep in your purse for throughout the day touch ups. I find it lasts for about an hour or so until I need to reapply. If I eat or drink, it comes off rather quickly.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Temptress – Revlon has some of the best lipsticks at the drugstore in my opinion. The shade Temptress was one I picked up awhile ago and got lost in my collection. Another great everyday lipstick shade.
e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator – With two lip products in my favourites this month, you can tell I’ve been a bit obsessed with lip products in general. I keep my lips smooth and free of gross dry bits with this exfoliator in lipstick form. So much easier than the Lush tubs of lip scrub.
Forbidden Euphoria by Calvin Klein – I typically change up my fragrance a lot during the month but I noticed that I gravitated towards this one. I enjoy all of the Euphoria line but this one I like to think of the ‘nighttime’ version. A nice complex fragrance with notes of fruit, floral and musk. Top Notes: Mandarin Orange, Raspberry, Peach Blossom; Middle Notes: Jasmin, Orchid, Peony; Base Notes: Cashmere Wood, Patchouli, Musk
bareMinerals Blush in Beauty – I received this from a little gift set from Sephora with a lipstick and an eyeshadow duo. Nicely pigmented but easy to blend. I find this gives a very nice flushed look. It leans more pink on me but there is a bit of coral in which may show up more on other skin tones.
Lastly my fail – Belvada Nail Polish Remover Pads. Oh man, I brought these home for Thanksgiving so I could do my nails without the risk of acetone spilling in my bag. I’d have to say I’d rather have acetone soaked belongings than use these ever again. These barely removed my nail polish and left my fingers covered in this oily mess. I need to have extra tissues on hand to wipe away the oily residues. Just avoid any of these acetone-free pads, at all costs.
til next time…
