Skincare: NeoStrata Personalized System*

NeoStrata Skincare Review

A couple months ago I had the amazing opportunity to go to a NeoStrata event during Toronto Fashion Week. I actually got to go into the tents which has been a dream of mine for years and years! It was a very nice and small event where we got to learn about the new products from NeoStrata. Afterwards, they graciously gave us a personalized skincare routine to try out.

My routine targets two of my biggest skincare problems – moisture and fine lines and wrinkles (and the prevention of them). My skin is dry and dehydrated and I have very fair skin so premature ageing is a definite worry for me.

I’ve tested out these products fully and want to tell you all about it!

NeoStrata Moisture Infusion Hydrating Serum Review

Moisture Infusion 24 Hr Hydrating Serum (Retails for $37.75) – Maintain long-term moisture while retaining water in the skin. Also protects skin from environmental aggressions and makes skin softer, more comfortable and supple. It contains AMC which is 4x more hydrating than hyaluronic acid, EXO-H which is rich in essential minerals that help maintain optimal barrier function and Litchiderm which is a lychee extract that has antioxidant properties.

This lightweight serum packs a powerful punch when it comes to hydration.  It quickly absorbs into the skin and adds noticeable hydration to the skin. Not too heavy for normal-oily skin types but actually works for dry skin. If you suffer from dehydrated skin of any skin type, this product will definitely help out. I use this after cleansing and toning both morning and night.

NeoStrata Glycolic Renewal Smoothing Cream Review

Glycolic Renewal Smoothing Cream (5% Glycolic Acid) (Retails for $39) – Even out complexion by removing build-up of dead skin cells on the surface of skin while also moisturizing. Clinically proven to improve skin texture, fine lines, wrinkles and skin radiance. Glycolic acid encapsulation and the added allantoin, which helps with soothing and has anti-irritant properties, makes this product suitable for all skin types.

If I wasn’t writing this post in the order that I use the products, this one would be last because it is the absolute best! In the past, glycolic acid based products were known for causing irritation and dryness but NeoStrata has found the solution to this – encapsulation. The glycolic acid is encapsulated which allows for better delivery into the skin with a much smaller chance of irritation.  Even sensitive skin can tolerate this product! The Smoothing Cream formulation is for dry skin as it has shea butter in it and the Oil Free Lotion is for oily skin and is mattifying. My skin loves this product and I can tell a difference when I don’t use it. It keeps the texture of my skin even and keeps any breakouts at bay. I use this only at night time and stay clear of the eye area as this product isn’t approved for that area of your face.

NeoStrata AquaYouth Eye Cream Review

AquaYouth Filling Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream (Retails for $34) – Visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while also filling already present wrinkles and providing instant hydration. This eye cream contains Matrixyl 3000, a combination of 2 peptides, as the anti-wrinkle component and two hyaluronic acid derivatives, Hylasome EG10 and Hydroviton Plus, to hydrate the eye area 5x more than hyaluronic acid.

Okay, I admit it. I’m horrible with consistently using an eye cream. Well that is until I started using this one. It may be due to the fact that it’s sitting by my sink with all my other products. But it is also due to its’ lightweight, yet hydrating texture. The tiniest amount is needed to get all the nooks and crannies of your eye area.  While I can’t really say anything about its’ wrinkle reducing claims, I can say that my fine lines haven’t gotten worse. Also, I don’t find my concealer creasing as much because my undereye area is now properly hydrated. I use this both day and night as the second last step of my routine.

NeoStrata AquaYouth Filling Anti-Wrinkle Cream Review

AquaYouth Filling Anti-Wrinkle Cream (Retails for $46) – Visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while filling wrinkles to improve the appearance of skin and adding hydration to the skin. This cream contains Matrixyl 3000, a combination of 2 peptides, as the anti-wrinkle component and two hyaluronic acid derivatives, Hylasome EG10 and Hydroviton Plus, to hydrate the skin 5x more than hyaluronic acid.

This is the product that I have used the least over the past few months. When I first started trying it out, my skin also broke out at the same time. I thought it was due to this product and stopped using it for awhile. Early in December I tried this again as I didn’t have any events or “need clear skin” plans. My skin didn’t break out and it could be due to two reasons – it wasn’t the original cause or the colder weather. Maybe this product was too rich for the fall weather but is perfect for the cold winter days. Time will tell come the spring I guess. Like I said, this is a nice, rich (yet not heavy) cream without leaving your skin greasy. It absorbs very quickly into the skin and plumps everything up with tons of moisture. My skin glows after applying this and if it could talk, it would probably say “ahhhh….moisture!” I think this would be a great anti-wrinkle cream for someone with drier skin in their mid to late 20s and for really anyone in their 30s or later. I typically use this at daytime and then use a different cream plus an oil at night but this can easily be used both day and night.

NeoStrata Skincare Review

Overall, I am very impressed with this skincare system (if you couldn’t tell). I definitely have found a couple products that have become staples in my skincare routine. I’m very impressed with the price of these products considering how much technology, research and amazing ingredients go into all of their products. So if you are in the market for some new components in your skincare routine, make sure to consider NeoStrata. You will not be disappointed.

til next time…
