Hi everyone! This is Stephanie from Beauty Infinitum, and I’m excited to be posting on the awesome and gorgeous Kaitlyn Elisabeth Beauty today! The theme of this month’s CBB guest post theme is “Pink, Red, and White” and I’ve decided to show you my current favourite lip goodies in those colours. They also happen to be bargain drugstore finds!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love That Red
Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipsticks are classics at the drugstore, and it’s easy to see why. Love That Red was first released in 1950 (source), and it is the perfect true red with neutral undertones that don’t lean too warm nor too cool. This shade should suit nearly every skin tone quite well, and it has a lovely formula to boot — cream finish, moisturizing, and lasts about 3-4 hours while leaving a pretty stain. The Super Lustrous line goes for about $5-$10 at drugstores and mass merchandisers, but I see them go on sale quite often!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Gentlemen Prefer Pink
Another awesome shade in the Super Lustrous line is Gentlemen Prefer Pink, which is a light baby pink with a pearl formula. It looks a bit frosty in the tube, but on the lips it has a nice, flattering sheen. It too has a comfortable formula and lasts about as long as Love That Red (3-4 hours), though doesn’t leave a stain. I find this shade is great for an everyday look or to balance out heavier eye makeup.
Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner
Meant to act as both a lip primer and prevent lipstick from feathering, Milani’s Anti-Feathering Lipliner is a great budget find to pair with darker lipsticks (or any shade that tends to spread outside your lip line). It’s $4.99 USD on Milani’s website, though a few dollars more in Canadian stores (I bought mine at Lawtons, but some Loblaws stores like Superstore may carry it as well). It goes on invisible and has a very creamy texture, so be careful applying and sharpening so it doesn’t smoosh.
Swatches, from bottom to top: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love That Red, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Gentlemen Prefer Pink. Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner not pictured since it’s invisible!
I hope you enjoyed my picks! Thanks so much to Kaitlyn and the CBB for the awesome theme this month!
