After a one week hiatus from Mani Monday (I did do my nails but just ran out of time to do a post), I’m back! This week I wanted to use one of my Ciaté kits I have received as gifts. I chose the Very Colourfoil Manicure kit to create this really cool abstract, graffiti-like design.
I love incorporating foil into my manicures and was super impressed with this kit!
The Ciaté Very Colourfoil Manicure kit comes with a nail polish (a true medium toned pink), Foil Fix Glue and a bunch of foil sheets in 6 different colours. I opted to not use the pink polish for this mani as I just wasn’t feeling pink nails at the time. Instead, I used one of my favourite polishes – Revlon’s Bold Sangria. I decided to use 3 of the foil shades – Snog (dark magenta), Stomp (light holographic pink) and Sing (gold).
This kit is so easy to use. First, paint your nails as you normally would (I did two coats but it’s really not necessary if you are using this much foil). I then put a coat of Seche Vite over top so that my nail polish would dry very quickly. Then take the Foil Fix Glue and apply a light layer in random areas on the nail. Wait until the glue is clear and then take a foil sheet and place shiny side up. Rub the foil sheet firmly and then peel sheet away to leave foil pieces on the nail. I layered the foil colours to create the graffiti-like design. After you are all done foiling the nail, apply a top coat to keep this design lasting for days!
I love the combination of the pinks and gold up against the dark purple/plum colour of the base. This type of design takes very little time but makes a big impact. I’m excited to try out the glue with my other foils I own to see if it works for those too.
I hope you enjoyed this design. Would you rock a foil mani?
UPDATE: It’s Thursday and I’ve just noticed that the foil pieces are literally peeling off of my nail. I used Seche Vite as my top coat so I am pretty surprised by this. This kit may actually only be good for like 3 days of wear before the foil starts peeling off.
til next time…
