Glam Coachella Makeup Look

Glam Coachella Makeup Look

The second weekend of Coachella is upon us and for the past 4/5 years I’ve been dying to go to the desert music festival. I may or may not have stayed up until 3AM on Monday to finish watching Drake’s set (it was awesome, minus the Madonna kiss….gross)

Recently though, it seems that the fashion, beauty and celebrity aspects have overshadowed the music. So why not buy into this with a little makeup look that I would love to rock at Coachella if I was there this weekend.

Now typically you would think of a very minimal makeup look for a weekend in the hot desert but c’mon! I’m at a really cool festival where basically anything goes in the beauty and fashion world! I’m going to do some glam “out there” makeup.

I love bronze/gold looks during the summer so I turned to my Naked palette by Urban Decay. This palette is always a go to for me and I’ve basically finished Naked and Sin as they are my go-to everyday shadows.

For the eyes, I started with a fluffy crease brush and Buck and blended this into and above the crease a bit. Once I was happy with my crease, I took a shadow brush and Half Baked and applied this all over the lid trying to steer clear of the crease colour. After I applied a base layer of that, I sprayed my brush with my L’Oreal Infallible Setting Spray and picked up more Half Baked so that I could create a more “foiled” look. This definitely helped make the gold more bold.

To smoke out the eye look, I then took more Buck on a more narrow crease brush and intensified that throughout the crease and the outer V. It just wasn’t dark enough for me so I took a darker brown (almost black) shadow (a combination of a NYX’s No Tan Lines Allowed trio and Inglot’s Eyeshadow #360) and intensified the very outer corner of the eye. I then took this darker shade on a smudger brush and applied it to the outer part of my lower lashline. Taking the same smudger brush I then applied Buck in the middle third of my lower lashline then Naked for the rest of the lower lashline. To highlight the inner corner and browbone, I used a bit of Virgin with a smaller domed eyeshadow brush.

To finish off the eyes, I used a black eyeliner to tightline my upper lashline and a brown liner to line my upper lashline. I smudged the brown liner a tiny bit so it wasn’t too defined. I curled my lashes then applied a couple coats of Covergirl’s Lashblast Waterproof mascara on both upper and lower lashes.

The dotted detail is so fun and very music festival appropriate. I simply took L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime liner in Green Ivy and created dots above my eyebrow and below my eye on the opposite side. You can set this with a bit of translucent powder to make sure it lasts all day and night.

I made sure to subtly contour my face using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in a shade darker than my skintone then Sephora Collection Bronzer in Los Cabos to set that. To add a bit of bronzed glow on the back of my cheekbones I used Hard Candy’s Hula Hula bronzer and then added a bit of colour to the cheeks with ColourPop’s Blush in Prenup. A touch of Hourglass’s Incandescent Light was used to highlight my cheekbones.

Finally, for the lips I lightly lined them using a neutral liner and then topped it with a combination of Bite Beauty’s Fig and Date lipsticks and Nars Lipgloss in Orgasm. Aka I used way too many lip products for this to be practical haha! But boy does it look nice.

I really hope you enjoyed my take on a Coachella makeup look. What kind of look would you create for a music festival? Did you watch any of the sets last weekend or plan on watching anything this weekend?

til next time…
