Yesterday was a fantastic day. Gorgeous weather. Great food. Lovely company. I typically don’t eat out a whole lot but yesterday I went out for both brunch AND lunch. Wow. I was also able to do my first ever fashion post for the blog! Thanks to Liz from Stay Gorgeous for taking the pictures and the wonderful birthday lunch at Auberge du Pommier!
I’ve had this jumpsuit from eShakti hanging in my closet for a little while now, just waiting to be worn. I figured there was no better day than yesterday to wear it out for the first time. Comfortable outfit where I didn’t have to worry about eating a ton of food and being self-conscious about my midsection.
eShakti is an online retailer that features women’s clothing from sizes 0 to 36W and offers customization of all pieces. You can simply take all of your measurements, send them with your order and they will tailor make your clothing so it fits you perfectly. I picked out this jumpsuit as it was something different and knew I could dress it up or down. I did choose to utilize the customization option and it really does fit me well. I typically have issues fitting my bust and hips which can make finding a well fitting one piece (dress or jumpsuit) very challenging.
I had a few issues with the garment though. First, the front part below the elasticized waist has a lot of material. While this is great so that I don’t have to worried about my stomach, it may not do my body any favours either. Also, I had to get my mom to taper down the legs of the garment. If they were actually full length pants it would have been fine but this awkward ankle-capri length just didn’t look good. She also had to take down the hem as much as she could to try and get it closer to ankle length. I think I may try and cuff them a little bit for a more relaxed look some days. Now this fabric does wrinkle a lot so just keep that in mind and don’t judge my photos too much haha!
Overall, the garment fit really well and functioned pretty well throughout the day. I also paired it with flat gladiator sandals for walking around and it looked nice with those as well. Just as a heads up though, some other people that I know ordered pieces as well and did not have much luck with the customization option. So make sure you take your measurements accurately and if you have trouble areas, add an extra inch there to make sure it fits.
I kept everything else pretty simple with this look. A big, chunky gold chain necklace and black strappy wedges to give me a bit more height.
Lastly, I had to wear these stunning sunglasses I received a little while ago from Polette Eyewear. This is another online retailer, based in France, which has super affordable glasses and sunglasses. They have hundreds of styles for both men and women. Simply provide your prescription and you can get inexpensive glasses and sunglasses. You can also pick out any style and not put any prescription in it, which is what I did with these Butterfly sunglasses. Shipping is $4.99 worldwide so you really can’t pass up getting a pair or two.
I absolutely love these sunglasses and am pretty impressed with the quality considering the $12.99 price tag. Nice and big plus they give off a super cool retro cat eye vibe. I like the little gold details as well. Now I just need to get my eyes tested so that I can order a bunch of glasses and more sunglasses from Polette.
Hope you enjoyed this fashion post!
Right now eShakti is offering 50% off most items on the site and you can get $35 off your first order if you register with them. Polette Eyewear has a bunch of styles on sale (some as low as $1) and continually put out new styles.
til next time….
