I’m continuing my tradition of creating nail designs based on what a celebrity wears on the red carpet of an awards show. This time it’s the Golden Globes and the celebrity I chose to be inspired by is Jaimie Alexander from the TV show Blindspot.
Jaimie wore a stunning, deep plunge neckline gown by Genny, an Italian label. The dress featured a black and green/teal metallic geometric pattern which made it perfect to serve as inspiration.
To create this design, first apply two coats of OPI My Gondola or Yours? and allow that to dry fully. Then take a metallic green or teal polish, Chanel Azuré was used for this design, and start replicating the geometric design from the dress.
There were a lot of circular shapes within the pattern so curved lines represent that. There were also circles made up of thinner lines, which served as inspiration for the pinky finger design as well as the middle finger. Near the top of the dress there were thicker curved lines, which are represented on the ring finger. Finally, on the left side of the dress the thinner lines that made up a larger circle almost appeared horizontal which was replicated at the base of the index finger. Half circles on the index and middle fingers represent the large circles within the pattern.
All of these designs were created with the use of 2 nail art brushes, one small and one very thin one to touch up any wobbly lines and to even out spaces between the thinner lines. Allow all designs to dry before applying a layer of top coat so that your design lasts for the next few days.
Polishes Used: OPI My Gondola or Yours? and Chanel Azuré
What dresses were your favourite from the 2016 Golden Globes? I really loved Lady Gaga, Brie Larson and Olivia Wilde.
