I know, I know. I recently said that I was going to cut back on my beauty spending in 2016. But I also said that I was allowed one high end purchase each month. Well even though we haven’t even made it to the middle of the month, I’ve decided on something and spent my money on it.
I’m talking about the latest offering from Chanel – the Sunkiss Ribbon blush from the Spring 2016 collection. I immediately rushed home to photograph it so that I could start using it. Let’s just say that I’m in love already.
The Sunkiss Ribbon blush features 5 different shades woven in a ribbon pattern. The shades range from a bright orange-coral to a baby pink to a warm beige. Swirled together you get a stunning coral pink shade that adds a pop of colour to the cheeks without being overly bold. The tiniest bit of shimmer can be seen in the blush, both in the pan and on the skin. When applied though, it just looks like you have been lit from within.
The blush is very pigmented so a single swirl around the compact is enough for both cheeks (for me and my pale skin that is). Easily blended and long wear time means this is soon going to become one of my most reached for blushes.
The single drawback I may have with it is that it is scented. Now while I love the rose/floral scent of the product, some people may experience issues with this if they are allergic to fragrance. I don’t notice the scent once the blush is applied to my skin so hopefully others won’t either.
The Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon blush is limited edition and retails for $59 CDN ($70 US – hooray for this being cheaper here!). So run to your nearest Chanel counter to see if they have any left. This blush is not only going to be a collector’s item but also a great staple blush for your makeup collection.
til next time…
