Mascara Combination of the Moment

Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal and Falsies Push Up Drama mascara

It’s hard to find that perfect combination of mascaras. I personally can’t use a single mascara for the most part as nothing ticks off things I want from mascara. My lashes do not hold a curl and can get weighed down very easily. I want to have bold lashes and not afraid of a couple clumps here and there if it means a good amount of volume overall.

Recently, I found my favourite combination of waterproof mascaras – Maybelline Pumped Up! Colossal Volum’ Express and Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama. I found this duo due to the first one I tried being a big letdown on its own. I wanted to share how I use different formulations to achieve the lashes I desire as you can be strategic about it.

Well….here’s my bare lashes (after they have been curled). Because my lashes can be weighed down very easily, they benefit from a drier formulation as it isn’t too heavy. Exactly why waterproof mascaras work best because they hold a curl so much better than regular mascaras.

The drier formulation mascara that I start with is the Pumped Up! Colossal. It reminds me of the Benefit Bad Gal mascara actually. It serves as a lash primer, laying down a bit of mascara but nothing too heavy, and separating the lashes.

After applying the first mascara (but before it dries), I apply the Falsies Push Up Drama mascara. This formulation is much wetter and easily weighs down my lashes and makes them clump together if I apply it on its own. But with the Pumped Up! base, it adds the perfect amount of volume at the roots plus deepens the colour of my lashes.

Unfortunately, sometimes you have to use 2 products instead of 1 to get the results you want. I am still on the hunt for the perfect waterproof mascara. Do you have any suggestions on your favourites?

til next time…

My lashes are similiar to yours, long on bottom and shorter stubborn lashes on top. I always see ladies with stunning long lashes, it’s nice to see someone who’s closer to mine! LOL 🙂 I’ll have to try this combo, thanks for the tip. I actually really like Falsies Push Up Drama, I find it holds my lashes up pretty decently! It’s my only drugstore fave right now. I’m definitely going to try it with the Collossal! Thanks!
