While I was in London, I had to pick up some UK drugstore beauty items. One of the brands I looked out for was Sleek and I ended up picking up the i-Divine Au Naturel Palette.
The Sleek i-Divine Au Naturel palette features 12 shadows, both matte and shimmer shadows, ranging from light highlight shades to a matte black. It retails for $11.99 USD/£7.99, which is in line with a lot of Canadian drugstore palettes currently on shelves once you factor in exchange rate. I’ve been playing around with it for awhile now and am kind of on the fence about it.
I had said that I am on the fence with this palette and that is because I really enjoy some shades and not others. The ones that I am enjoying are Nougat, Toast, Taupe, Conker and Mineral Earth. The last three mentioned are shimmers and the first two are mattes. Those three shimmers are the only shimmers in the palette and they really are the stand outs of the palette. Super pigmented and creamy, plus they apply and blend out nicely.
The mattes are relatively pigmented (Nubuck is the least pigmented of the bunch) but I find them hard to blend out in addition to some fallout. Plus an issue I found was that they were an awkward mix of shades (Nubuck and Moss are the culprits there). I’m hoping that I can figure out a way to work with these shades more and get the results I want.
I put together an eye look with this palette and I love the finished result. I started off with Toast throughout the crease to aid in blending and then concentrated Bark and Regal on the outer portion of the crease and outer V area. I then took Conker and placed it all over the lid and blended it into the crease shades. I highlighted my inner corner and browbone with Nougat and Pearl from the Becca Champagne Glow palette. I ran Bark on my lower lash line and blended it out with a bit of Toast.
I finished off the look with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Mad Max Brown to create the wing plus lots of mascara. To make sure that my brows were perfectly framing this eye look, I used my Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner in Universal Dark and Anastasia Clear Brow Gel.
Have you ever tried a Sleek eyeshadow palette? What were your thoughts?
