It’s always the best idea to prevent wrinkles by taking care of your skin and applying SPF every single day. However, some wrinkles still get through your regimented skincare routine. Adding a wrinkle minimizer into your routine can help reduce the prominence of these wrinkles and further prevent any new ones from creeping up.
I don’t have wrinkles, more so fine lines, but I also have expression lines on my forehead. So when I got the chance to try out the Paula’s Choice Resist Skin Firming Line Minimizer, I jumped on it! I’ve used it basically every single night (and sometimes during the day when I wasn’t leaving the house) for the past 3 weeks to see if there was a reduction in my fine lines around the eyes and my expression lines on my forehead.
The Paula’s Choice Resist Skin Firming Line Minimizer ($50USD for 0.05oz) is an advanced serum, housed in an airless dropper, which targets fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the eyes and mouth. It is suitable for all skin types, even those sensitive to retinol. Featuring bamboo extract, niacinamide, copper lysinate/prolinate and sodium hyaluronate, this product promises firmer skin and the diminished appearance of fine lines. The copper lysinate/prolinate is an amino acid complex which boosts your skin cell’s metabolism and increases collagen production. The sodium hyaluronate, along with a few other ingredients, helps with the moisture level of your skin.
The serum is fast absorbing and non-irritating to my skin. I didn’t notice any unusual breakouts in the areas that I applied it. However, when I started using this under my eyes, the skin dried out a bit. The worst thing you can do to your undereye area is dry it out. It makes everything look worse. I immediately stopped using it around that area and just focused on my forehead. Now I can’t really say if I see a difference in my expression lines on my forehead but my skin does appear more hydrated. I even have noticed more oil production in my T-zone.
So do I think this product works? It’s hard to say. My skin did change after a few weeks of use but no difference in the lines themselves. Maybe I didn’t use it long enough? Some of the other ingredients that help with moisture are still great to have on my skin but you can find those in other products. Looking through the reviews on the site, others have had the same “no results” issue as me. My best suggestion is always to try something to see if it works on your skin. And if all else fails, fall back on AHAs and retinol to fight lines and wrinkles.
What anti-aging products do you love? Which ones have let you down? Have you tried the Paula’s Choice Resist Skin Firming Line Minimizer?
til next time…
