CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review

Now I know that spring hasn’t arrived yet, but that doesn’t mean that summer collections can’t start appearing now too. The CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection is a great mix of pastels and bright colours and promises to be a Weekly Polish (if you use the top coat). Now while I love the combination of the colours, I would say this is more of a spring collection and their spring collection is more suitable for summer. But really, what do I know?

I have swatched all 8 polishes from the CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection that retail for $11.95 so keep an eye out for them in stores!

CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review Lavender Lace

Lavender Lace – I had to start out with my most favourite polish of the bunch. This stunning lavender shade has a subtle pearl shimmer throughout that further softens the colour. It applied like a dream and required 2 coats to reach full opacity.

CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review Skin Tease

Skin Tease – This is the perfect nude shade. Not too yellow, not too pink. Full opacity reached with two coats and no issues with streaking.

CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review Pink Pursuit

Pink Pursuit – This toned down, more neutral pink is a great alternative to a nude polish. This muted colour pairs really well with an ombré glitter look. Two coats were sufficient and no streaking issues.

CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review Be Demure

Be Demure – I have to say that I had the most issues with this shade. Mainly with some pooling (but this might have been because I was trying to swatch quickly). Also watch out for streaks. It’s a great baby pink shades but did need 3 coats to reach opacity.

CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review Honey Darlin

Honey Darlin’ – It is so hard to find a good yellow, even harder to find a pastel one. Well, look no further. This buttery yellow shade is a dream to apply with two coats all that’s necessary to reach opacity. If you have any issues with streaking (which you shouldn’t), you can add a third layer to even everything out. Like Lavender Lace, this is a true standout of the bunch.

CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review Aqua-Intance

Aqua-Intance – While bright aquas can be tons of fun, a muted aqua is a great alternative. Still bold, but not vibrant, this beautiful cream finish polish reached full opacity with 2 coats. Overall, the cream shades self-levelled like a dream.

CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review Date Night

Date Night – A medium blue polish with a cream finish and great pigmentation. Two coats get the opacity absolutely perfect but you might be able to get away with one coat.

CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection Swatch Review Desert Poppy

Desert Poppy – Another standout, in my opinion, this bold coral shade has a tiny bit of pearl shimmer throughout that gives the colour a bit of dimension. Great pigmentation with two coats needed to make it look perfect.

Now because I only swatched these polishes for this post, I can’t speak to the “weekly polish” claim. I can try out one of these shades (with the accompanying top coat) if you are interested to know how it wears on long nails.

What are your favourite shades from the CND Vinylux Flirtation Summer 2016 Collection?

til next time…
