OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review

When your favourite nail polish line brings out a collection inspired by one of your favourite Disney movies, you are bound to be excited. Alice in Wonderland is my favourite Disney movie and with the upcoming release of Alice Through the Looking Glass, I may be going a little mad with excitement. OPI has teamed up to create a collection based on the new movie made up of 9 polishes. With a mixture of bold and delicate shades, the OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection embodies the fantasy of Wonderland and you certainly won’t want to be late to this party.

I have swatches of all the shades including my thoughts on application. All shades were opaque with 2 coats, with one exception. If you notice any differences in the appearance of my skintone, only did it so you could accurately see how the shade looks in person.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review Oh My Majesty

Oh My Majesty! – The lightest shade of the collection, and probably my favourite. This is a stunning opal shade that has a pink champagne/rose gold shimmer to it. This did take 3 coats to get opaque but believe me, it’s worth the extra effort.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review The I's Have It

The I’s Have It – This pale blue shade is another standout from the collection. It’s creamy finish is stunning and this colour can be rocked all year round in my opinion.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review Fearlessly Alice

Fearlessly Alice – If you ever wanted to do an Alice in Wonderland nail art design, you need this shade. It is almost an exact match of the blue of Alice’s dress. Really nice cream finish but I did find it stained my cuticles ever so slightly.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review Mad for Madness Sake

Mad for Madness Sake – This fuchsia pink shade is very reminiscent of OPI’s Kiss Me On My Tulips (which I really love). But because it reminds me so much of another shade, I was a bit disappointed. Another bold colour could have been included in the collection instead I feel. However, this shade applies like a dream and is a classic shade that if you don’t have in your collection, would be a great addition.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review A Mirror Escape

A Mirror Escape – One of the two glitter polishes in the collection, this is a lovely gold shade with silver and white glitter particles dispersed throughout it. Now while I needed two coats to get it to be opaque, I found that then my nails were very bumpy because of the two layers of glitter particles. This could be really nice as part of an ombré look though.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review I'm Gown for Anything

I’m Gown for Anything! – The minute I swatched this stunning lavender/lilac shade, I was in love. The absolute perfect shade for spring/summer. So feminine and pretty. This shade also applied like a dream so that just made me even more happy. If you don’t have a shade like this in your collection, you need to add this polish in particular. You won’t be disappointed.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review Having a Big Head Day

Having a Big Head Day – Okay, I love the name of this polish. I wish I could have that job (although I don’t think I’m creative enough for it). Now there always seems to be a cream finish red in an OPI collection. I understand, I really do. Red polishes probably sell really well but when you have as many polishes that I do, you really don’t need another red polish. But this one is amazing. The perfect finish and shade. This is your classic red, so if you are in need of a new red, pick it up. I think the Queen of Hearts would want all of her roses this colour.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review What's the Hatter with You

What’s the Hatter with You? – This plum shade reminds me of the stripes of the Cheshire Cat from the original animated movie. Doesn’t it? A great vampy shade that would be great for fall and winter. I had a few issues with streaking but with the second coat, it seemed to resolve itself.

OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass collection Swatch Review What Time Isn't It

What Time Isn’t It? – Lastly, this is the limited edition shade of the OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection. A slate grey shade with long, silver glitter particles in it. I had the most issues with streaking for this shade for some strange reason. It almost seemed like the polish was a bit thinner than the rest. I’m also not personally a fan of glitter polishes like this. But I really love the base colour of this polish and may just need to start hunting for a cream finish one just like it.

Overall, I’m happy with the collection (especially with the opal, light blue and light purple shades) but kind of wish that some of the colours were a bit more wacky (we are talking about Wonderland here). What’s your favourite shade of the OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection?

The collection is available now and make sure to check out Alice Through the Looking Glass, out in theatres on May 27th!

til next time…
