Almost two weeks ago, Generation Beauty hit Toronto. I had no idea what to expect for that weekend and well….my fears kind of came true. Unfortunately, the event was not what I was hoping for. Standing in countless lines for hours on end is just not my cup of tea (unless it was to meet Drake). However, I got to spend some great quality time with some of my blogging friends and we did collect some pretty great swag along the way.
I thought I would show you the items that got me the most excited during the weekend and that I’m excited to start experimenting with.
Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow Duo in Purple Haze – My motto of the weekend was if I got to choose the shade of something, I would pick up colours that I normally wouldn’t buy myself. Boy does this ever fit the bill. The shimmery purple and matte deep red/plum are both stunning and I can’t wait to put them all over my eyelids in the very near future.
Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquid Lipstick in Chocolate Honey – The line up for Too Faced was very long (mainly due to faulty dropping coconuts. Yes actually) but I ended up with a sample of one of the melted lipsticks I liked but never really thought I’d spend the money on. Really excited to pair this with a warm, rusty eye look.
Glamglow Flashmud Brightening Treatment – I will never turn down a sample of Glamglow so I was very happy to find this in one of the gift bags (especially because Glamglow wasn’t a booth at the event).
NudeStix Gel Color in Wicked – NudeStix is a brand that I have always wanted to try while I browse the aisles of Sephora. I don’t know if I could see myself using this on my cheeks (I’m not a fan of cream blushes) but on the lips, this will be stunning. I love how it looks like I just bit into a juicy berry and it stained my lips.
Did you go to GenBeauty? What was your experience like? Or have you received a sample recently that you got really excited about?
til next time…
