Avon Anew Clean Skincare Review Revitalizing Toner Micellar Cleansing Water Facial Cleansing Wipes

In my quest of trying out new skincare, I was given the opportunity to try out some new products from the Anew line from Avon. The Avon Anew Clean Skincare line is formulated for all skin types and features different cleansers and a toner. I tried out the Micellar Cleansing Water, Revitalizing Toner and Facial Cleansing Wipes for the past couple of weeks.

First off, the Facial Cleansing Wipes ($14, 24 wipes) are what I’ve been using to remove the bulk of my makeup every night. They are textured cloths and are nicely saturated with solution. They were effective at removing a lot of my makeup at night but I still needed to properly cleanse to remove the rest. While they were great for the majority of my face, I experienced a lot of burning around my eyes if I used them there. I don’t normally have sensitive eyes so this is really unfortunate.

The Micellar Cleansing Water ($14, 150mL/5 fl oz) cleanses, hydrates and tones the skin, all at once. By containing hyaluronic acid, this cleansing water helps attract and maintain moisture so skin feels softer and hydrated. I’ve been using this at night after cleansing to make sure all my makeup is removed and then in the morning to wake my skin up. I am a big fan of Bioderma micellar water and I instantly compare any other one to it. This micellar water is very different than Bioderma as you can feel it on the skin after it has dried.

Now if you have very dry skin, this is perfect for you. The hyaluronic acid and other ingredients will help plump up your skin. But if you have oily skin, I would recommend you stay away from this. As it is summer, my skin is more on the normal side, so I wasn’t a huge fan of this. It almost felt like there was a film on my face after applying it. I will be keeping this for the winter to help hydrate my skin.

Finally, the Revitalizing Toner ($14, 200mL/6.7 fl oz) promises to leave your skin feeling refined and conditioned all while improving the appearance of pores. I have been applying this after cleansing and before moisturizing. Like the micellar water, I found that this left a film on my skin and it just didn’t sink in properly. I didn’t breakout or anything from it but just didn’t enjoy the feeling on my skin. Now, if you have very dry skin, this will work out very well for you. But if you have normal-oily skin, I would recommend you try another toner.

Overall, the Avon Anew Clean Skincare line didn’t work out too well for me. I know that these products will work for people with dry skin (at the very least the micellar water and toner), but they are certainly not for all skin types.

til next time…
