Review: THEFACESHOP Hydro Cushion Blush

THEFACESHOP Hydro Cushion Blush 02 Coral Review Swatch

Cushion makeup is all the rage right now. It seems wherever you look there’s another brand releasing some sort of cushion foundation or makeup product. One of the more affordable options is THEFACESHOP Hydro Cushion Blush ($15 CDN).

I was able to try out one of the two shades, 02 Coral, and definitely put it to the test during a warm summer day.

Now I have to give the disclaimer that I am not a cream blush fan as I find they wear off on me very quickly. While this cushion blush is more liquid in formulation than cream blushes, it still wore like a cream blush for me.

I applied this over foundation (before applying any powder) with the small applicator that comes with the blush. I found that a patting motion was the best for application and resulted in the most natural look.

Now while I enjoyed the application and initial look of the blush, I did find that the shade was not very pigmented (see swatch below) and didn’t last for more than 3-4 hours on my cheeks. If I had topped it with a powder, it would have lasted longer I feel.

Now if you are very fair with dry skin, this blush will work better for you. Also, the other shade, 01 Pink, looks very promising and definitely more up my alley.

This blush is perfect for quick makeup for just running around doing errands or sporting the no-makeup makeup look. But as I enjoy a bolder blush, this just isn’t a product for me.
