Mani Monday: Emmys Red Carpet Inspired

Emmys Red Carpet Inspired Nail Art

On Sunday night, the Emmy Awards aired and the red carpet was full of some amazing fashion! As always, what we see the celebrities wear can serve as inspiration for nail art.

Jane Krakowski wore a stunning dress by Bibhu Mohapatra that featured some great details over the vibrant purple-blue shade. The details can be easily replicated by using a few different nail polishes and a dotting tool. Keep reading to see how you can create this Emmys red carpet inspired nail art.

First off, paint all of your nails with a purple shade. Don’t worry if it doesn’t match the inspiration dress exactly. The design is the main focus of this nail art, not if you replicate the precise shade of purple. Allow the base colour to dry for 5 minutes before continuing on.

Next, start with the white polish and the dotting tool to create a random patten of white dots to mimic the dress details. Follow this up with using a light purple, grey-blue and black polish to complete the details of the pattern. These 3 other shades should only be accents and not overpower the white dot shapes. If you find that you covered up a lot of the white, go back in at the end with the white polish to create a few more dots.

Allow the design to dry for 5-10 minutes then apply a top coat.
