Through this blog I have had a chance to try out some great products from brands that we all know and love. Sometimes though, I get the chance to try out smaller brands that may have gone unnoticed if they didn’t come to my doorstep. Maison Jacynthe is one of those brands.
Maison Jacynthe beauty products are mainly 100% natural and free of chemicals, petroleum by-products, preservatives and synthetic fragrance. It is also a cruelty free line. The line ranges from mascara to eyeshadow to lipstick.
I was fortunate enough to receive 3 products from the line to try out and I have to say I am very happy with them all.
First up are the two powder products I received—a blush in 01 Roméo ($26 CDN) and an eyeshadow in 13 Barista ($22 CDN). Both are only in the pans but you can purchase palettes to put them in but they also go in my Morphe magnetic palette.
Both of the powder products have great pigmentation and lie somewhere in between of being really hard and buttery smooth. The great thing about this is that you have minimal fallout when it comes to the eyeshadow and buildable colour for the blush.
The blush is a beautiful brick/terracotta shade that is insanely pigmented. But as you can see in the below swatches, can be easily blended out to give that “just out of the cold” look to your cheeks.
I am in absolute love with the eyeshadow. Again the pigmentation is crazy and the beautiful sheen of the shadow gives it amazing depth and dimension once applied to the eyes.
Lastly, I also picked out a lipstick in the shade in 02 Bordeaux Mate. I first have to rave about the packaging for this lipstick. It is a combination of metal and wood that is just so unique and lovely to have out on my vanity.
The lipstick itself if crazy pigmented and glides onto the lips effortlessly. I can say that it is a bit of a thicker formulation (like that I can feel it on my lips a tiny touch more than the lipsticks in my collection). It is hydrating and doesn’t dry out my lips. This is because it contains candelilla wax which allows for smooth application with comfortable, non-drying wear. In terms of longevity, I did find that it wore off after a couple of hours but still left behind some colour even after eating and drinking. The formulation contains abyssinian oil which enhances the colour and helps with the longevity.
Just a note that the lipstick in this line is 93-100% natural due to the red pigment being synthetic for some shades.
I put this gorgeous look together this past weekend for my friend Jen‘s bachelorette. I used all three products from Maison Jacynthe as well as other products that I have listed below.
