Essie Winter 2016 Collection Nail Polish Review Swatch Swatches Ready to Boa Satin Sister Party on a Platform Getting Groovy Oh Behave! Go with the Flowy

If you saw most recent Mani Monday post, you will know that I recently attended an event for the Essie Winter 2016 Collection where I was able to meet Global Colour Curator Rebecca Minkoff and Lead Educator and Nail Artist Rita Remark. The collection is inspired by the mod era in London and has some great colours that are definitely more unique for a winter collection.

I have swatches of all 6 polishes from the Essie Winter 2016 Collection which you can find in stores now and retail for $9.99. All of the swatches are 2 coats.

Go with the Flowy – This lovely dove gray reminds me of a gloomy winter day that you just want to curl up on the couch with a good book or mega TV marathon. This is a cream polish that has just the slightest blue shimmer which you can see in the below shot. Super easy to apply and great alternative to the classic nude coloured nail.

Oh Behave! – I would say this is the most unique shade of the collection. A peach with a golden frost throughout that seems like it would be super sheer but packs a pigmentation punch with the second coat. I honestly haven’t seen a shade quite like this and it could easily be used all year round.

Getting Groovy – In my opinion, every winter collection needs a good shimmer/glitter polishes and this palladium gold is perfect! Great pigmentation and very easy application. Probably one of the best shimmer polishes I have tried in the last little while.

Party on a Platform – Even though every single winter collection comes with at least one red polish, this garnet red creme is a really great one that you should consider when replacing or adding to your red nail polish collection. Easy to apply and deep enough in colour that it can be worn both during winter and the holidays. Just watch out for the clean up as I did find this stained my cuticles a bit if I wasn’t careful (but all deep reds do in some degree).

Satin Sister – There is just something about a deep teal polish that makes my heart flutter. I had previously fallen in love with OPI’s Ski Teal We Drop but after several years it needed to be tossed from my collection. This deepened peacock blue is most likely a dupe for that polish (but I have yet to compare the two). Like Party on a Platform you do have to watch out with clean up and the teal staining your cuticles.

Essie Winter 2016 Collection Nail Polish Review Swatch Ready to Boa

Ready to Boa – Next to Oh Behave! this one might just be my one of my favourites. This is a bronzed mahogany shade that has such a beautiful shimmer in it. When it catches the light it really does shine but in other light it just looks like a burgundy/brown with lots of dimension. Plus this one applied like a dream.
