Now I can easily admit that I get excited for the latest nail polish collection release. But this one was on a whole other level. For this holiday season, OPI released their Breakfast at Tiffany’s collection which features 18 polishes, 12 of the regular formula and 6 of the Infinite Shine formula. There is only one repeated shade between the two different formulas—the Tiffany’s blue shade, I Believe in Manicures.
I have swatched the entire collection below for you. All swatches are 2 coats unless otherwise noted. I apologized for the stained cuticles in some swatches. There were just so many reds and deeper shades and I did all of these swatches within a 24 hour period.
Girls Love Pearls – This is a metallic white shade that comes in the Infinite Shine formula. Definite streaks but I actually love this shade a lot. A third coat could have possibly covered up the visible nail line that is very slightly visible.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s – When I saw this shade in the bottle I was positive that it would have a shiny finish. But once I swatched it, it dried down to a matte finish. Of course if I put a top coat on then it would have the finish I was expecting but I think this is even nicer as a matte. There is still a bit of shimmer throughout the polish though which you can see in the close up shot below.
Five-and-Ten – While the last polish only had a touch of shimmer, this polish makes up for that and more. This champagne metallic polish is super shiny and features a champagne and a copper shimmer. I think this would have been better with a third coat if you just want to wear it along. But it would also be great to use in a shimmery ombré nail art design.
I Believe in Manicures – As I had said, this shade comes in both the regular and Infinite Shine formula. The real differences between the two? The Infinite Shine formula is a bit thicker and takes a couple milliseconds longer to self level than the regular formula. I also find that this one is a bit more creamy in its finish which I really do enjoy.
Champagne for Breakfast (over I Believe in Manicures IS formula) – This glitter polish is definitely one that you just use as a top coat. It would be way too hard to layer up to a more opaque look. The silver glitter have a holographic feel when the light hits them. Of the two glitter polishes, this is the one that I prefer more.
I Believe in Manicures – Like I had said, this formula is a bit thinner and has less of a creamy finish than the Infinite Shine formula. I have included a comparison shot of the two bottles below and this one appears to be a bit darker than the Infinite Shine shade. What really stands out in that shot though is the fact that this shade is much more blue in tone than the classic Tiffany’s shade you can see in the box in the background.
Sunrise…Bedtime! (over I Believe in Manicures) – Like it’s silver equivalent, this polish is much better as a topcoat than on its own. While I don’t love the pairing with the blue polish underneath, this would look great with a deep plum or burgundy shade.
Apartment for Two – This bright midtone pink/raspberry shade is probably the brightest of the bunch. A really great cream finish and great staple pink shade for your nail polish collection. Reminds me of Rose Exuberant from Chanel and Kiss Me on My Tulips from OPI.
Meet My “Decorator” – Now I was sure that this would have been the brightest of the bunch but this shade definitely dries darker than what you see in the bottle. That is a little upsetting as I prefer the colour in the bottle over the actual swatch. A nice cream finish for this warm toned red but nothing to write home about.
Can’t Tame a Wild Thing – Now if only the previous polish was able to pack a punch like this one, we would be in business. This polish really shows the shine in Infinite Shine and I love how perfect this red is. Not too dark, not too pink. It’s bright enough to make a statement but still looks classic and timeless. I have a comparison of this shade and Meet My “Decorator” in the bottle so you can see the shade difference.
Fire Escape Rendezvous – Who could forget Audrey Hepburn sitting by the window and fire escape and singing Moon River? I sure won’t. So it seems fitting that the most unique polish of the bunch is named after such a classic scene. This ruby red shade has irregular shaped red glitter that add texture to the polish but not a ton of sparkle. There is a matte shimmer effect in the base colour of the polish that may be enhanced with a top coat.
Got the Mean Reds – If the previous two cream reds were a bit too bright for your liking, this one will be perfect I think. That super classic cream finish blue toned red is a must for every nail polish collection. It can stain the cuticles when you are trying to remove it though.
Ring the Buzzer Again – You can see from the swatches that depending on the lighting this polish can appear lighter or darker. This is a deeper red, almost a wine shade that like the previous red can stain the heck out of your cuticles upon removal. It can also be a bit of a pain to clean up if you make a mistake.
Can’t Read Without My Lipstick – While the last deep red somewhat let me down, this shade is definitely more my thing when it comes to a deep red. A bit of a brown hint to it, it is a great fall and winter shade. Watch out with the clean up again (I really need to figure out a trick to not stain/irritate my cuticles during a swatchathon).
I’ll Have a Manhattan – Now this is the perfect alternative to a black polish, especially if you are more fair and don’t like the starkness of black against your skin. I can see this polish oxidizing on the second/third day of wear so that it appears even darker. This will make it lose its purple hue but will still make it a bit softer than a plain black. I found this was easier to remove than the reds and while it stained my cuticles a bit, it didn’t seem as bad.
Party at Holly’s – I don’t know why it took me so long but I definitely picked up on a trend that there are pretty similar colours between the regular and Infinite Shine formulas. This shade is the darker sister to Can’t Read Without My Lipstick for sure. That dark red/mahogany with a hint of brown. I do prefer this shade over Can’t Read Without My Lipstick as it just looks more polished and richer.
Black Dress Not Optional – This black pearl shade is so pretty and also another great alternative to cream black polish. The gunmetal shimmer gives such great dimension to the polish and softens the look of it. One of my favourites of the collection for sure!
Rich & Brazilian – While the pearlized black is one of my favourites, this polish is my absolute favourite! It is a stunning burgundy polish with a cranberry shimmer that can also switch over to a golden copper in certain light. Easily one of the prettiest polishes I’ve worn in a little while.
What are your favourite shades of the collection?
