New In: Lancome Teint Idole Foundations

I don’t know about you but I am forever on the hunt for the next perfect foundation. I have some holy grails in my collection but I always feel like I could have more. So when I got the opportunity to try out some of Lancome’s Teint Idole foundations I was crossing my fingers that at least one of them would be amazing.

I tried out three different foundations, all in different formats/formulations: the Teint Idole Ultra 24H Makeup Foundation, the Teint Idole Ultra Cushion, and the Teint Idole Cushion.

The Teint Idole Ultra 24H Makeup Foundation is a liquid foundation that contains SPF 15 and promises 24 hours of wear. Now I don’t know about that 24 hour claim but I can say that this foundation does last a good 8-10 hours before it starts wearing off on me. The coverage is medium but a second layer can bring it up to medium-full coverage. It dries down to an almost matte finish but doesn’t accentuate dry patches or lines on your face. Recently Lancome expanded the shade range to include over 40 shades. I found that 140 Ivoire N is a perfect match for me (I knew it would be from using that shade in a different foundation before).

The Teint Idole Cushion is a liquid cushion compact foundation. I always get worried when trying out this kind of foundation as I haven’t had a ton of luck with them in the past. Mainly cushion foundations, for me, provide too sheer of coverage and don’t last throughout the day. But fortunately this cushion compact surprised me with how good the pigmentation is as well as the finish on the skin and longevity. I can build this up to medium-full coverage with two layers, or just using one I can achieve a light-medium level of coverage. This foundation can be very dewy on my skin but once I powder it down it looks very natural and then slowly my natural oils start peaking through later in the day. I can get about 6-8 hours of wear before this starts to break apart on my skin. I really was taken aback by the coverage of this foundation and the ease of application. The sponge/puff applicator can really pack on the product but can also sheer it out. I know that this will also be great for the summer as it has SPF 50 in it. I’m also a 140 Ivoire N in this foundation.

Finally, the Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick is a stick foundation that offers 24 hour wear with a ton of pigmentation and an almost matte finish. It is incredibly creamy but dries down to a powder texture which helps with the longevity of wear. With one swipe you can get full coverage (just look at the swatch below!!) and it promises to be smudge and transfer resistant. Now I received 350 Bisque N which is definitely not my skintone (not even during the summer) but if I want a very subtle contour/bronzer along my cheekbones I can use it there (but really only in the winter). This foundation has SPF 21 which is a really nice amount for everyday wear.

Overall, I am very happy with the Teint Idole Ultra 24H Makeup Foundation and the Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation. I continue to reach for these foundations when I’m doing my makeup in the morning and highly recommend both if you have dry to normal skin. If you have oily skin, just try out the Ultra 24H Makeup Foundation.

til next time…
