Summer is just around the corner so over the next couple of weeks I’ll be featuring some of the latest summer nail polish collections. First up is the CND Vinylux Rhythm & Heat Summer 2017 collection.
Sugar Cane – Okay. I love this pastel yellow-lime green shade but boy is it a pain to apply. You most definitely need 3 coats to get to this kind of opacity. But it is very prone to streaking so make sure to keep your coats very thin (you can make the last coat a touch thicker to get better coverage).
Shells in the Sand – I absolutely love this pale tangerine orange. It does lean on the sheer side so I needed to do three coats to achieve the opacity seen in the swatch. You could also do a white base first then apply two coats of Shells in the Sand.
Mambo Beat – This bright orange red has such a nice creamy finish to it. I can’t wait to wear this shade on my toes in the summer as it’s a great summery take on a red polish.
Ripe Guava – This is a deeper berry red shade that is very thin in its formula. It has decent pigmentation but you can’t achieve that gel-like look with this polish, unless you put a thicker top coat over it.
Palm Deco – Definitely one of my favourite polishes from the collection. A creamy forest green shade that is so pretty. The formula is a bit thinner than expected but pigmentation wasn’t an issue.
Splash of Teal – Another one of my favourites is this deepened teal blue shade. It also has a slight muted tone to it which makes it bold but not over the top. Application was great for this shade and I love how rich the pigmentation is.
What shade is your favourite from the CND Vinylux Rhythm & Heat Summer 2017 Collection?
til next time…
