I can easily remember the days of me just passively watching YouTube videos and reading blogs. At least 85% of them were located in the UK and consistently mentioned Soap and Glory products. I longed for the day that I could be cool too and try out all the cheekily named products. Well that day FINALLY arrived! That’s right, you can be uber cool like the Brits and pick up Soap and Glory products at Shoppers Drug Mart.
I’ve been trying out a few of the products over the past few weeks and wanted to share my thoughts so you can narrow down what to pick up during your next shopping trip.
Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Cleansing Cloths ($10 CDN) – These cleansing cloths are a dream for those with oily skin. Soaked in a solution with PORESHRINK-4, yuzu, aloe vera juice, white tea extract, and babassu oil, these cloths cleanse the skin while declogging pores, smooth, tone, and hydrate your skin. There is a bit of texture to the cloths so it also gently exfoliates the skin while you use them. I didn’t find these overly drying for my normal-dry skin but definitely had to follow up with a serum and moisturizer to make sure my skin was in good shape. These work relatively well with makeup removal but I like using them best in the morning to refresh the skin.
Soap and Glory Scrub Your Nose In It ($18 CDN) – Now I love me an AHA and this face scrub has one in it! I am not a big fan of AHAs in cleanser type products as I don’t feel like you give the AHAs enough time to do anything. But this scrub is a hybrid between cleanser and mask. Apply it to your T-zone and let sit for 2 minutes. After that, you can rinse of the product and ensure you scrub your entire face with it. There is a small grit to this scrub which makes it pretty gentle and perfect for all over the face after you’ve let it sit. My skin wasn’t dried out after using it and it did a great job at lightly exfoliating my face.
Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Lotion ($16 CDN) – This body lotion is packed full of oils (almond, grapeseed, coconut, lime seed, cocoa butter, and shea butter) which makes it ultra rich but not a bit heavy at all. There is also AHAs within the lotion (derived from fruit) which means that it will lightly exfoliate your skin as you wear it. My skin feels hydrated when I use this but never sticky or greasy. It has a citrus scent but it disappears after about 15-20 minutes after applying.
Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub ($18 CDN) – This is the product I’ve been dying to try over the years! A blend of oats, sugar, salt, shea butter, glycerin, and sweet almond oil makes this a super effective, hydrating body scrub. What makes it even better is its maple scent. It actually smells like breakfast (well one that has oatmeal and maple syrup) and is a highlight of any shower.
Have you tried out any Soap and Glory products? What is your favourite?
