Today I have swatches of some of the Essie Gel Couture Enchanted Collection along with the Essie Gel Couture Gala Bolds Collection! I do have to admit that I have never tried this line from Essie before and I can already tell I like it a lot more than the regular Essie line (not that I hate that by any means).
One of the main reasons why I like the Gel Couture line so much is that the polishes are a bit thicker, especially for the lighter shades. An added bonus is the larger brush that just seems to hug the curves of my nails perfectly!
There are 6 shades in the Essie Gel Couture Enchanted Collection (I have 4 featured here) and the Essie Gel Couture Gala Bolds Collection has 12 shades (I have 4 featured) and all swatches have 2 coats. You can pick these up at local drugstores and they retail for $13.99 CDN.

Matter of Fiction (Enchanted Collection) – One of, if not the, easiest to apply pale pinks from Essie. Ever. The brush helps a lot along with the good pigmentation. Self-levelled relatively well and looks creamy and shiny under a top coat.
Inside Scoop (Gala Bolds Collection) – Well I didn’t love this one (you may be able to see why). I don’t like sheer polishes. I’d rather a semi-sheer polish that still shows the nail underneath but still smooths everything over. I hate how you can see how yellow my nails are. There was some pooling issues as well. But that was probably because I was trying to beef up the coverage.
Princess Charming (Enchanted Collection) – A great dusty mauve neutral shade. Super creamy and easy to apply. One of my faves.
Sizzling Hot (Gala Bolds Collection) – Sigh. I really wish I could like these kind of shades more. The polish applied really well but it’s just not my kind of shade, sadly.
Once Upon A Time (Enchanted Collection) – I can always get behind a blue-grey cream polish. This one was another favourite with flawless application and lots of pigmentation.
V.I.Please (Gala Bolds Collection) – This raspberry shade is one of my favourite ways to infuse a bit of colour into my look during the colder months. Still Fall/Winter appropriate but has that perfect pop. Can’t say it enough but application was great and the pigmentation was spot on.
Front Page Worthy (Gala Bolds Collection) – OOOO WEEEEE! I love a metallic blue polish. This one is definitely staying in my collection for any day that I want a bold, blue polish on my nails. The fine shimmer in it is stunning and even though you can kind of see stroke marks, the application was great again.
Good Knight (Enchanted Collection) – This deep, red burgundy is a great deep shade that still has a bit of depth to it. It looks even better when it is topped with a great top coat because it shines for days. Wear time is pretty impeccable too. I have had it on for a week now and I mainly only have tip wear. Really hoping that the removal isn’t as much of a pain as some other dark Essie polishes can be.
What did you think of these Essie Gel Couture polishes? Which collection do you like more? The Enchanted or Gala Bolds collection?
til next time…
