When I heard that Jennifer Lopez and Inglot were collaborating on a new collection, I immediately started freaking out. I love JLo and think Inglot is such an underrated brand so I think this is such a great partnership.
JLo worked with Inglot for 2 years to develop the line and created over 70 new products for the brand. Now typically in the past, when people have collaborated with Inglot, they simply pick out already existing items from the brand. This is more of a person’s favourites of the brand rather than a collab. So to have JLo personally involved in the creation of new products is amazing for the Inglot brand.
The collection launched on April 26th and is available in stores and online. I checked out the preview event the night before and even scored a gift bag with some of the products. I have swatched all of these products below so you can see what some of them look like. I will definitely be heading down to the Inglot store in Toronto to pick up a few more products as well!
First up are the lip products. Most of the shades for both are neutrals with a couple pops of colour. There are two types of lipsticks, a matte and satin finish. I received both a lip gloss and lipstick in the gift bag. The lip gloss shade is Soft Rose and the lipstick shade is Mauve and is a matte finish. Soft Rose is a bit more peach toned than you would think with the name but it’s still really pretty. It warms up the lipstick shade Mauve very nicely to make it a bit more wearable against my pale skin. The lipstick is a bit more cool toned on the actual lips and is a bit stiff but it is a matte finish.
The lipsticks feature a JL on the bullet and the packaging (like the entire line) is all black and rose gold. The lip gloss wand has a doe foot applicator and is pretty firm. But this doesn’t create an uneven application of gloss rather it helps apply the product precisely.
There is also a Brow Liner Gel in the collection and it comes in 2 shades, Truffle (shown above) and Taupe.
One of the most beautiful products in the line, next to the loose highlighters, are the Pure Pigment Eyeshadows. There are 5 shades and they are all stunning. I received the shade Silver Dollar and it while it has a pink base to it, once it is swatched that kind of disappears and the silver takes over. I can’t wait to try this out and see what it’s like when used wet or with a glitter glue as a base.
And lastly, there are single eyeshadows that you can put in your Freedom System or in a magnetic palette. All of the 20 shades have the JL logo debossed on them and most of the finishes are shimmery/satin. There are a few mattes in the 20 shades. I received Pink Satin and Olive in my gift bag. Pink Satin is a perfect lid shade and gives such a pretty shimmery finish to the eye. Again, I’d love to see what this shade is like when used wet. Olive is a great brown based khaki/olive green shade. Less of a shimmery finish but definitely a satin rather than a matte shadow.
The pigmentation is great for both of these shadows and I am very interested in a few other shades.
Have you heard about the JLo x Inglot collection? What’s your favourite celebrity collaboration line in beauty?
